Dear Volunteer:
Helping children learn and succeed is important to our county, state and nation. Thank you for choosing to be a part of this special process by volunteering in a Harnett County School. Your participation will help us accomplish our primary goal: to help our children develop skills to be successful in all walks of life.
We welcome you to our team and look forward to you sharing your talents and experiences with our students. Your time, energies and resources will be an investment in our children, in your children and in the future of Harnett County. Your participation and active involvement in our schools will enhance and strengthen educational experiences. It will also be rewarding to you.
As you participate in this special project, we ask that you fill out the Volunteer Registration Form and the Release of Information Form. These forms must be in place at the school site before you begin your volunteer service and can be accessed below. You may also receive these forms at the school sites. Once completed the forms should be turned in to the Volunteer Coordinator at the school site you would like to volunteer for.
The Volunteer Registration Form will be used at the school site by the school coordinator to make schedules and assignments for all volunteers. The Release of Information Form is processed and kept at the central office. In order to provide the safest possible environment for all students, the Harnett County Board of Education adopted Board Policy 7140. This policy states that all persons working with children in our schools and at school sponsored activities must complete the Release of Information Form, allowing the human resources department to perform a background check. Once this process is complete, your name will be added to the "Approved Volunteer" list and you may begin volunteering. The school coordinator will provide you with volunteer opportunities based on your availability and interests.
We look forward to working with you. With your commitment, Harnett County Schools will continue to provide quality educational services that equip our students for life and leadership in the 21st century. United as one group, we will serve the children in Harnett County.
